A personal message from George Michael DeMoya, Founder & CEO
To my fellow business owners and CEOs:
When you have built a business, you understand what is at stake when conditions change. Your decisions affect employees, customers, your family, and the years of effort invested in the company. I understand that responsibility personally. In more than 50 years across the United States, Latin America, Europe, and Asia, I have built, operated, and turned around businesses. That experience shapes my message to you today: take the changes around us seriously and begin preparing your business for what comes next.
I believe we are still in the early stages of an economic transformation whose consequences will unfold for years. Trade relationships, supply chains, technology, and the economics of doing business are changing together. Some pressures will ease. Others will fundamentally change where companies source, how they operate, and where they can compete profitably.
There is evidence across major markets. In Europe, the European Central Bank has identified how trade-policy uncertainty can redirect trade, reshape supply chains, and delay business investment. In Canada, the Bank of Canada has described trade realignment, artificial intelligence, and demographic shifts as deep structural changes, with businesses already seeking new suppliers and markets. In the United States, the Federal Reserve’s own adoption of AI illustrates how technology is moving into everyday operations—and why training, leadership, and accountability matter to achieving results. These developments reinforce the need to review assumptions that once seemed dependable. European Central Bank · Bank of Canada · Federal Reserve
For your business, the questions are immediate. Do your prices reflect your true costs? Are you too dependent on one supplier, market, or key individual? Can your operations support the next opportunity? Is your leadership team prepared to make difficult decisions and carry them through?
You do not need certainty about the global economy to make your business better prepared. You can strengthen operations, evaluate alternative markets, reduce avoidable dependencies, and establish clearer responsibility now. Taking action should mean disciplined assessment followed by focused improvements, with progress measured along the way.
This is the commitment behind ID2Solve™. Through Operations Advisory, Import & Export Advisory, and Family-Business Advisory, we bring experienced perspective, practical analysis, and the commitment to work alongside your team. Our work connects cost and supplier evaluations, operational reviews, leadership decisions, and implementation plans to the objectives that matter to your business.
I urge you to look beyond the demands of this quarter. Consider what your company must become to remain competitive, resilient, and successful in the years ahead. The decisions deserve your attention while you still have time and options.
Let us begin with the issue, opportunity, or decision that matters most to your business—and determine the next practical step together.
